Beate's weekend challenge - SCS # 20

Happy Sunday stampers!
My daughter and I went to lunch yesterday and we stopped by one of my favorite super duper scrapbook stores! I of course was in heaven, as the store has a vast impressive inventory of fabulous paper and tons of everything else to clean your wallet out! LOL! I found the reindeer paper in My Mind's Eye section and thought it was so cute! In the back of the store were several tables full of "garage sale" items, customers had brought in to sell. Many brand new items and stamps galore! There were a few SU sets still in the boxes unmounted, although I already had them or didn't feel the need to have them. I did manage to find a single cool stamp for $2.00! I will be making a card soon with this new stamp. TMF!
This sketch was a good one as they all are with Beate! Thanks Beate, I look forward to these each weekend!
The card ingredients are as follows:
CS-Sand -(Bazzil), Chocolate shimmer (Bazzil), Bashful Blue (SU). DP-(My Mind's Eye). Merry Christmas stamp (Hampton Arts) Michael's 25% off! Reindeer stamp (Moose you set-SU). Ink-Chocolate brown (Anna Griffin). Edges inked with the chocolate brown ink. Sheer blue ribbon (Michael's). Pop dots beneath Merry Christmas image. The picture is not true to color as seen IRL. The background of the reindeer is beige, but it seemed to have picked up a different hue., just thought I would mention that! LOL Deb!
I have a serious confession to make, I do not have Chocolate chip paper or ink by SU! Can you imagine that? I know most of you can't live without it, and I wonder how the heck I have done so! LOL! Ordering it ASAP!
Hope your Sunday is going great! Happy stampin'! Deb

Napa Valley wine labels

Happy Saturday my blogging friends!

We are finally having a light rain that we so desperately need! Southern California is a crispy cracker, and we are coming up on our fire season. Lets hope we get some serious rain from this storm passing by.
It is so nice to get up Saturday morning with my coffee cup in hand and go to blogland! I will be working on Beate's sketch among other things today. In the meantime, I made this card last night to share this morning. The wine label paper is so cool, I just love it! What a fabulous scrapper background paper page this would make if you'd gone on a wine country tour. I haven't gone wine tasting in so long, but is is fun and such beautiful country, not to mention the fabulous food along the way! Yum!

Ingredients for a good vintage wine card as follows:
CS- Harvest gold-Bazzil, Creme-Bazzil, Chocolate brown-Bazzil, PP-BOBUNNY-Napa Valley Wine Labels.
SU corner tag punch, Brown ribbon grosgrain-SU.

Asian Love

Over at Angel's blog, I saw "Pay it forward", I was one of the first 3 to comment on a post of hers. Sweet Angel sent me a very nice RAK which I will share on my blog as soon as I get a picture. Thanks Angel, you are such a sweetie!
The first 3 comments on this post will receive a RAK from me. Then each of you (the first 3) do the same on your blog and so on and so on. It is a really nice way to share something with a fellow blogger. Thanks for stopping by and playing!

Now to the card !
The other day on SCS there was a challenge in which the embellishment used was limited. I am not sure what exactly it was called, but you all probably know the one I mean. Beate had used pine needles on her beautiful card, and another person used some discarded jewelry to make another stunning creation. I used horse tails on this Asian flair love card. Brown corrugated brown paper, Asian paper (source unknown), Certainly Celery (SU) Love symbol stencil ((Walmart). Brown raffia (Michael's'). Corner round punch (EKS).
Have a great Monday! Please email me your addie if you are one of the first 3 to post comment, have fun stampin'! Deb

Peaceful Wishes card for the troops

Happy Saturday stampers!
This Christmas card is for the troops that need our support, especially during the holidays. Paula is posting these cards on her blog (loves blooms in me) will send the info to you on
where to send the troop cards. I am going to try and get a few more made. (Link not working, sorry).
This SU set Peaceful Wishes was the first set I ever purchased, last year when all this stampin' began for me! I love this set and you can do so much with it. That is the beauty of the SU sets, the versatility of them., not to mention how well they stamp! You already know that! He he!
CS-Whisper White (SU) Ink-Glorious Green, Real Red & Anna Griffin Choc. Brown. SU brown grosgrain ribbon on side of card. Keeping the card simple but having a holiday flair was my objective, I didn't want to gussy this one up for a tough Marine or Navy or Army guy to receive! I wouldn't image they would be into bows and such! Bless them all for what they do each and every day!
Have a great stampin' day, off to do Beate's challenge! Thanks for your visits! Deb

Thinking of you for Maddy Mason -SCS

Happy Sunday!
This card is for a SCS gal Maddy Mason. I was reading my Buddie's blog today, Alex and she had some sad news to share that she had just learned about. I don't know Maddy, however like Alex mentioned in her post, we should all pull together and support dear Maddy during her difficult time. I viewed her cards on SCS and she is such an asset to SCS and the card making world. There are links on Alex's blog regarding the information to Maddy on SCS. I will mail this card Monday, and pray for Maddy.
Life is so precious, embrace each moment! Thanks for visiting today! Deb

You are on my mind

I'm back again today and may be again later! Good Saturday here for making cards! Gorgeous day and my spirit is content, so I am on a roll (I hope)! I certainly do wish all my blog buddies a very happy day and please do treasure every moment as they are so precious!

The envelope fold is probably my favorite card design, next to a gate fold to create. The cutting takes some time, as it is all done by hand but worth it I do believe! The CS is Pink Passion (SU), DP (Anna Griffin). Pink flower, green button & ribbon (BOBUNNY). Top flap adorned with pink mini bling. Sentiment stamp -(Michael's $ bin). Word punch (SU). Sheer pink polka dotted ribbon (Sheer Creations-Michael's). I should have done a better close up, but thank goodness we have the click on image ability!
I am such a tennis fan, (as is DH) I use to play a lot and did some mini tourneys. So, I am glued to the US Tennis Open! I have been following it closely for 2 weeks, now it's coming to an end, bummer! The ladies are about to play the finals, I'm onboard for Justine Henin (Belgium).
Tomorrow is the Men's finals, go Roger Federer, as he is the # 1 dude! Sorry to go on if you are not a fan! But lookout! It's NFL time whopieeee! Go Chargers!
So that is about it for now, hope to be creating some more later. Thanks for your special visit! Deb

Beate's weekend challenge # 18

H a p p y S a t u r d a y !
Harmony is bliss!

I love my new Autumn words set from Hero Arts. The harmony sentiment is one of my favorites, so I was happy to be able to use it for this challenge. Gold & moss CS (Bazzil) and DP (Wild Asparagus) along with the Outline Stamps (2 sizes) After cutting each flower out I used pop dots between each layer for that cool dimensional touch! Keeping in the fall spirit and the sketch design, I was pleased with the continuity of this card, simply stated with style!
Have a fabulous happy creative day! Thanks for visiting! Deb

Bella thanks!

Happy Friday!

Today was just one of those days! The hours passed by and days end was upon me! There are so many computer virus's going around, so I did plenty of needed maintenance, serious back up, and ran virus check just to be sure, and then plenty of running around! May I strongly suggest that you all consider backing up your precious files at least on a monthly basis. The sad stories of people losing their data and photos is alarming in the event of a computer crash. I know I take it for granted quite a bit and forget to back up, so lets BACK IT UP this weekend ladies!
I managed to squeeze in a little Bella gal thanks card, very simple mind you. She is so cute who can go wrong with Bella? CS-Whisper White (SU) Green & yellow paper (Bazzil),Corner round punch (EKS), polka dot ribbon (Michael's) as well as the thanks stamp ($ bin)! Love that bargain bin! I think I now have all the ones my store offers! LOL! One can never have too many stamps! So stamp on ladies, and have a great evening! Now to make my rounds! Oh goodie Beate's challenge time! Deb

Thanksgiving

Happy Thursday stampers!

These fall colors are surrounding me, since I got organized again! I spent over an hour yesterday, attempting to organize my scraps! LOL! I managed to make a bit of a more organized mess, if you know what I mean! At least they are accessible, so I can spend another hour looking for just the right piece! Just kiddin'! I hoard my paper, just cannot bare to toss it out! Sound at all familiar? He he!

Thanksgiving card: CS-Always Artichoke (SU),Harvest gold (Bazzil),DP-Junkitz. Flower punch (EKS). Black & orange paper (Bazzil). Gold bling-(not sure in stash),Thanksgiving tag (deluxecuts) After I completed the card, I realized that the steam from the pie (tag) doesn't show (same shades of rust against each other)! DUH Deb! I slid a piece of the lighter portion of the DP under the steam, and it is much better!

Those of you who know of my DD Domenica, then you may know of her Seattle shopping stamping stores spree! I have a feeling she'll be able to fill a wheelbarrow after the damage she is doing! What fun! Can't wait to see all her goodies! The only bummer is, she lives in Calgary and I live in southern California! Darn I hate when that happens! Good thing for blogs!

Have a wonderful day! Thanks for your visits and support! Deb

Simply Sunday!

happy birthday...
My thought was to create a simplistic and cheerful birthday card. The pink scallop CS (Bazzil), along with the DP -Stella Stripes (EKS) seem to set the stage. The BOBUNNY flower with the adorable green button and pink gingham ribbon was actually my original inspiration! Marvy Giga & Mega circle scallop punches, Wild Wasabi & Whisper White (SU). White writers gel pen for faux stitching. Bling rhinestones (Michael's Craft Store). The stamp(s) happy and birthday are from "happy everything "set (SU). Ink-Pink Passion (SU). I was considering adding an additional strip of paper horizontally on the card, (beneath the flower), but decided to keep it the way it is. Simple! What do you think? Thanks for your visit today! Happy stampin' Deb
