Kinda fishie!

I saw this cute underwater paper, and thought my CB folder Spots & Dots would be a cool background. Kept this one simple using the Giga & Mega scallop circle punches, cute ribbon, done! I just couldn't decide on the sentiment, so I figured I would just leave it blank for now- TFL! Deb~

GONE TO THE BEACH!

In my dreams would I have ever thought I would or could even attempt a pop up dimensional card! LOL! However, given my sheer determination and curiousty on the "how to mechanics" of this type of card was intriging to me. So for the Paper Crafts Gallery "Summer Inspiration" contest, I wanted to create a really nice entry.

The process was extremely long, as there are many layers and components and handmade elements applied to this card.

When you open up the card, the layers of beach balls pop out at you and you are at the beach!

The process was as follows:

2 layers of SU Whisper white cardstock.
Front (face) of card is yellow paper by Paper Co.
Cuttlebug embossing folder "Swirls" was used for background.
Stripe pattern paper is by Reminisce-(STRIPESTOCK).
Canopy edge was created using Fiskars scallop scissors.
Stamp by SCRAPS (GONE TO THE BEACH).
Ink: Inkadinkado-Black
Beach ball was made using Fiskars circle cutter.
Hand drawn beach ball and water colors were applied.
Ribbon is through SU word punch and wraps around entire card and ties.

Inside:

Upper back portion of card is turquoise paper from a Costco pack.
Cuttlebug embossing folder-"Swirls".
Sandpaper 100 grit for beach / sand effect.
Handmade beach towel with creases for the ruffled towel effect.
Sea Life Treasures (shells & starfish)Michael's.
Bold beach balls (dimensional pop layers) die cut.
Striped ribon-BASICBASIC-Michael's.

Thank you for looking hope you like this creation!

The inspiration for this card ensemble came from a couple of mini watermelons! The melons were in this netting, after I removed the netting, a little light went off in my head...got to save this great texture and colorful layer for a project. This is a result of my melon netting vision. Thanks for looking!

Black Prima birdie

Another one of my envelope fold cards. Image that!Black cardstock by Paper Co. The green fabric - like polka dotted paper didn't photograph the true color of green it is. There was no brand name on it.The scrap actually is the same as the used on card, as you can see it is a darker. Guess I need to improve on my camera situation! LOL! I used Giga and Mega circle scallop punches by Marvy. The black birdie is a new Prima pop bird. Love them! They come in a darling container within a box. I bought them on ebay. They come in an assortment of mixed colors, gotta have them! The stamp is SU-cherish-black ink used. Sheer black ribbon from Michaels's.
Hope you like this one! Thanks so very much for looking!
