In my dreams would I have ever thought I would or could even attempt a pop up dimensional card! LOL! However, given my sheer determination and curiousty on the "how to mechanics" of this type of card was intriging to me. So for the Paper Crafts Gallery "Summer Inspiration" contest, I wanted to create a really nice entry.
The process was extremely long, as there are many layers and components and handmade elements applied to this card.
When you open up the card, the layers of beach balls pop out at you and you are at the beach!
The process was as follows:
2 layers of SU Whisper white cardstock.
Front (face) of card is yellow paper by Paper Co.
Cuttlebug embossing folder "Swirls" was used for background.
Stripe pattern paper is by Reminisce-(STRIPESTOCK).
Canopy edge was created using Fiskars scallop scissors.
Stamp by SCRAPS (GONE TO THE BEACH).
Ink: Inkadinkado-Black
Beach ball was made using Fiskars circle cutter.
Hand drawn beach ball and water colors were applied.
Ribbon is through SU word punch and wraps around entire card and ties.
Inside:
Upper back portion of card is turquoise paper from a Costco pack.
Cuttlebug embossing folder-"Swirls".
Sandpaper 100 grit for beach / sand effect.
Handmade beach towel with creases for the ruffled towel effect.
Sea Life Treasures (shells & starfish)Michael's.
Bold beach balls (dimensional pop layers) die cut.
Striped ribon-BASICBASIC-Michael's.
Thank you for looking hope you like this creation!
