A little bird told me

Happy Friday stampers, scrappers & crafters!

This card was inspired by the bird resident we have over our front door, (previously posted story of birdie).
I thought this would make a nice card for my sister's birthday coming up. I am pleased with the bird except I am not thrilled with her (bird) top line. My coloring line is not blended well. I am learning these Copics, so please bare with me! LOL!

PP-Swirls-Michael's
Stamp-Martha Stewart bird set 1
Sentiment-$ bin Michael's

Valentine mailbox

Mail box for Isabella!

This cute craft project was a joy to make for my darling grand daughter Isabella, who just turned 3 recently.

I found the little mailbox at Target's $ section. The heart pattern paper I had left over from last year, and I added some glitter on the hearts. SU! heart punch came in handy to add hearts on the mailbox. Red and pink Prima flowers with a Marvy circle punch on the backside. Red ric rac from Wal Mart and a clear rhinestone embellies from my stash. The front of the box is a heart foam stamp cut out with a $ bin Michael's stamp sentiment (Be mine)! Ink-Real Red SU!

I had never used Martha Stewart's glue before, and I am very impressed with the way it stuck to the metal box as well as to the paper. It comes in a sponge type pen applicator and is easy to control the release of glue.

I will fill this mailbox with mini Valentine's for Isabella to enjoy and share and send it off to Canada to my little Valentine!

Thanks for stopping by and for you support! Deb

Beate's WSCS-30

Finally I finished Beate's challenge card! Whew!

For some reason, I struggled with this sketch, looking at it now I am not quite sure why!

I punched the flower layers out and put the silver brad through the middle and then creased the petals and positioned them.

This card is nicer in IRL, I promise you! Not the best picture, I am sorry for that!

Card recipe:
CS-Pretty In Pink-SU! Textured Rose-Bazzill
DP-Anna Griffin (using up all of my scraps here)!
Silver brad, MM, Birthday tag (source unknown) dimensionals, Ribbon-Michael's.
Thank you Beate for this challenge, I look forward to this weeks sketch!

Thanks for visiting and thanks for your kind support! Deb

Be mine birdie

Happy Tuesday stampers, scrappers & crafters!

Oh, just give me birdies and more birdies!

This cute little birdie is one of my latest finds! I just love the little heart she is holding (I decided it was ladyl birdie)!

We have a momma birdie that has a nest over our front door and has for years! She faithfully returns every year to her nest that is tucked into the faux fruit garland topper. Thus, the garland remains up 365 days a year! Her nest was safe from the smoke and recent fire storm we had in October thank goodness! 12 feet away from the front door, a screen had blown off the window and burned!

Our little bird resident has returned and is a busy bee! She is a gold colored sparrow size, and before we know it she'll be chirping to the beauty of spring! Her babies drive us crazy for awhile, but it is just so wonderful! New life begins, and the cycle has started again!

Nature is amazing and we are blessed to have this little beauty at our door top! Anytime I can get my hands on a birdie stamp I think of our little momma bird!

Four square flowers

Happy Friday stampers, scrappers & crafters!

My week has been consumed with involved appointments with many different doctors, poked and prodded and plain burned out from it all! The health care service is outstanding where I go, but nonetheless it is quite draining. I have at least 10 + more appointments to go and 2 procedures that I do not look forward to.

Today I just didn't have it in me to go in again, so I rescheduled today's appointments. I got a chill the other night and I have a cold and little chest congestion. I think it best to rest today, sounds like a good plan don't you think? Well with that all being said, the sun is shining and we are warming up to 71 degrees this weekend!

I am so behind on my blogging world visits, perhaps I can do some catching up today in bed with my lap top. I do have a card to share that I worked on a little bit each day as I had the energy, I certainly hope you all like this one! I debated whether or not to put a ribbon on the card, and decided not.

Card recipe:
CS-BG-Blk, scallop,Whisper White -SU!,PP-scrap? Stamp set-SU! Copic markers, pop dots.
Thanks Marlou, for the kind make me smile award, I will do my best to continue on with that fun award! There are so many wonderful card makers that put a smile on my face each day! Hugs to you!
I will have to pop over and see what Beate has cooked up for this weekends's sketch (smile here)!

Thanks for your kind comments and support for better health, I appreciate it very much. Deb

Lavender Partidge in a pear tree

Happy Saturday stampers, scrappers & crafters!

Tons of rain! A great weekend to stay in and make cards and put away all of the Christmas decorations. I do enjoy having the pretty decorations about, as they are so dear and warm to me. Slowly each treasure will be wrapped back up in tissue paper and stored away until next year. I have been procrastinating this, so this is the weekend it shall happen!

Most importantly though time to create! Beate's challenge, the 3 birthday cards that need to get completed and my thank you cards from Christmas! It doesn't sound like the decorations have a chance of getting put away after all! (wink)!

DH will be back home again tom arrow for a few days, I will let him rest a bit then ask for his help with the storage of the decorations. Much better plan, don't you think?

The card...this sweet heat embossed pear tree with the Partridge is just so cute! I figured there was no stamping law stating my Partridge in a pear tree can only be used during the holidays! So a lavender pear tree it is! My daughter gave me a heat gun and embossing powders and a "embossing buddy" for Christmas. I had really only been doing dry embossing with my CB. This is fun! More stuff and more mess, but great results! Very cool indeed!

In the picture you can't really tell that the image is heat embossed, but it is! I used Stickles on the pears. The pp is from a Costco stack, scallop punch (Marvy) Ribbon $ bin M's.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by for a visit. Deb

Roses or Peonies

Happy Friday stampers, scrappers and crafters!

I adore this pretty almost vintage like, but fresh paper! Don't you?
I think the flowers are roses or perhaps peonies? Whatever the case may be it's pretty pp.

Easy recipe for this Valentine:

Cs-Whisper White -SU! Certainly Celery-SU! Burgundy textured-Basic Grey.
PP- Lollipop Shoppe' -Basic Grey
Stamp-$ bin M's
Ink-Real Red-SU!
Circle punch (small) Marvy
Pink satin ribbon-M's
Tiny clear rhinestones (though appear pink) Putting On The Glitz.

We are preparing to get blasted by a huge storm coming down from the north later tonight through Monday. I will be stocking up on supplies so I won't need to leave the mountain. Lots of stamping will be going on here to be sure! (wink) Since Santa brought me an Ott-lite it is so cool, I can see at night to make cards! Whoohoo! Love this lamp, I highly recommend it!

Stay cozy where ever you may be and have a delightful day! Hugs, Deb

Be Mine Bella card...

Using Bazzill cs base, Basic Grey pp, SU Pretty in Pink and a Bella stamp this is my first Valentine for 2008! I left out Bella's bouquet, and instead stamped a $1 bin (from M's stamp bunch of flowers and cut and popped them up. Be mine sentiment $1 bin M's. Ink used Black Versamark for Bella and Pink Passion for sentiment. Distressed edges with Ranger Mustard Seed and Pink Passion. Pink ribbon by the yard M's. Not quite sure why the picture is so poor, sorry! Better if enlarged.
